Walk Up DJ (“the app,” “we,” “us”) is a walk-up song and announcement app for youth sports teams, available for iOS. This policy describes what information the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We do not sell your data, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

Information we collect

Account information. You sign in with Sign in with Apple. We receive the name and email address you choose to share (Apple lets you hide your real email). We use this only to create and secure your account.

Content you create. Team names, player first names, jersey numbers, walk-up song selections, uploaded audio files, announcement text, AI-generated announcement audio, and game scores you log. This content exists so the app can do its job: playing music and announcements at your games.

Subscription status. If you purchase a subscription, the purchase is processed entirely by Apple. We receive your subscription tier and status so we can unlock the features you paid for. We never see your payment details.

Device identifier and diagnostics. The app generates a random identifier for your device, used to enforce fair-usage limits on AI announcement generation. If you choose to send diagnostic logs to support, those logs are used solely to troubleshoot your issue.

How announcement audio is generated

When you create an AI announcement, the announcement text (for example, “Now batting, number 12, Alex!”) is sent to our text-to-speech provider, ElevenLabs, to generate the audio. Only the announcement text is shared — never your account details. On the free tier, announcements are generated on your device by Apple's built-in speech synthesis and nothing is sent to ElevenLabs.

Children's privacy

Walk Up DJ accounts are created and managed by adults — coaches and parents. Children do not create accounts. Player entries consist of a first name and jersey number entered by the account holder, and optional parent-portal links expose only a player's first name. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Sharing

We share data only with the service providers needed to run the app: Apple (sign-in and subscriptions), ElevenLabs (text-to-speech, announcement text only), and our hosting infrastructure. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising.

Data retention and deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete Account inside the app. Deletion removes your account, teams, players, songs, announcements, game logs, and parent links. You can also email us at the address below to request deletion.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on access-controlled servers. Sensitive credentials are encrypted at rest.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. Contact us and we will honor these requests.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update this page and the effective date above.

Website waitlist

If you join the waitlist on walkupdj.app, we collect the email address (and optional team or league name) you provide, solely to email you about the app's launch. We don't share it, we don't use it for anything else, and you can ask us to delete it anytime at [email protected].

SMS / text messages

If you use phone-number verification or opt in to account notifications, we collect your mobile phone number to send you one-time verification codes and account-related notifications (for example, security or account-status messages). These are transactional messages tied to your use of the app — we do not send marketing or promotional texts.

Message frequency varies based on your activity. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message from us; you may receive a final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. Reply HELP for help, or contact us at [email protected].

We do not sell or share mobile opt-in data or consent with third parties for marketing purposes. Your phone number is used only to provide the messaging described above.
